Granite and Marble international Limited is a Natural stonework manufacturing company formed in London in 1992.

Natural stone is a low carbon building material compared with other construction materials and produces minimal emissions during the production process.
The lifetime strength of natural stone reduces the replacement costs compared with most flooring and carpets and therefore has less impact on the environment.  Stone is inactive and releases little, if any emission, unlike carpet, particularly important for those with allergies or respiratory ailments.
GMI, as a company, understands the impact our industry has on the environment.   We are constantly endeavouring to improve our environmental performance by preventing pollution where possible, complying with relevant environmental legislation, regulations and company standards.

We achieve this by:

  • Re-using packaging  and ensuring that all imported timber fumigated at source
  • Minimise the amount of waste going to landfill
  • Giving consideration to noise, dust, vibration, fumes and smoke
  • Ensuring that all our plant is regularly serviced and operates efficiently
  • Ensure that our plant is not operated unnecessarily
  • Recycle water in our production process.
  • Reduce business travel and unnecessary transport of plant and materials
  • Take due care in the disposal of inert material
  • Minimise waste during site installation and re-use/return excess material
